RUNAWAY (INCOMPLETE)
1997

You're sittin' by yourself in an alley, after one on a school night.
Nowhere to be, 'cause you didn't like your home.
Had to fight with your parents just to get out of the house, so you left.

And now you're just gonna roam on the street for a while,
With your tail between your legs, 'cause you got no place, no cash, no food.
You could get a job, if you had an address, but you don't.
So it looks like you're screwed.

There's a guy named Tony, got a place on his "drill team,"
Always lookin' out for another cherry runaway.
Someone took off with your backpack last night.
The guy was a gorilla - what're you gonna say?

You hear a cop car poppin' some sucker on the street
But the guy speeds up, like he's gonna get away.
And you don't know if you're hungry, or sick from the pizza you found
in the garbage at the mall today.

  Is this what you wanted?
  Is this what you thought?
Is this what you dreamed of?
  Well, it's what you've bought.

  Are you finally happy?
  Are you satisfied?
Are you all grown up now?
  Did you keep your pride?

Thinkin' 'bout your family and the people that you know
who got a roof over their heads
and you're the only one who don't.

Thinkin' why you ran away but someone missed the point
'Cause you don't belong out here, man, you can't even roll a joint.
